Rural Development Project by transforming the Socio economic perceptions and skills in rural households of 8 pilot parishes Jonam Archdeaconary
With reference to Nebbi District's current Development Plan, a major bottleneck for successful development in the region is: Resource mobilisation and management, effective coordination; networking and linkage with all development stakeholders.
Our Programme is meant for small-scale rural farmers and fishermen, men, women and youth whom are idle in the town or else have suffered from the effects of 20 years unrest in northern Uganda. Our ambition is to empower them as citizens and decision makers, and to improve their livelihood through
i) energy efficiency
ii) improved personal hygiene
iii) safe water initiatives
iv) higher domestic back yard economy
v) with improved access to local and international markets.
This will pave the way for our main project in 2012 which is the Technical Institute in Amor parish where we will prepare artisans and technicians with relevant skills for self employment and the oil industry needs in our hinterland of the Albert Nile region.
This initiative by Bishop Henry Luke Orombi Foundation is in partnership with
1) eight Parishes in Jonam Archdeaconary (County)
2)staff from Packwach town council officials
3)Nebbi District's office.
These partners form an established network which will originate from the churches, for information flow, meetings, and appropriate training demonstrations.
Intervention logic: To improve the livelihood of citizens living in remote areas by promoting self-development, empowerment, women's rights and sustainability.
Team Leader: . Torben Lundsgaard has 30 years of experience in rural development, programme management; formulation, planning, and evaluation of projects.
